1) What is SuomiGuide
SuomiGuide is an online directory and information website about Finland. We are not a public authority or an official representative of any organisation. All materials are for general information only; you should always confirm important details directly with the relevant service providers.
2) Acceptance of the Terms
By using the website SuomiGuide, you agree to these Terms of Use, as well as to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy (links are provided in the footer). If you do not agree with these documents, please do not use the Service.
3) Mandatory operator information (Finland)
We publish on the website our name, geographical address, e-mail and other contact details for quick communication, as required by Finnish rules and the guidance of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV).
4) Age
The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. Where personal data is processed on the basis of consent in connection with “information society services”, the minimum age of consent in Finland is 13. If you are under 18, parental/guardian consent may be required for paid services.
5) Account and security (where applicable)
- When registering you provide a valid e-mail address; passwords are stored only in hashed and salted form.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access.
- We may temporarily restrict or close your account if you violate these Terms or where it is necessary to protect security.
6) Licence to use the website
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the website for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not systematically copy content in bulk, resell access, reverse engineer, or circumvent technical protection measures.
7) User content and moderation (where applicable)
- If you publish content on the website (for example reviews or profile photos) or submit content through forms, you grant us a free licence to display and moderate such content within the Service.
- You must not publish illegal content, spam, defamatory material or content that infringes the rights of third parties.
- We operate a “notice and action” procedure for reports of illegal content and provide a point of contact in accordance with the Digital Services Act (DSA): [e-mail for notices] / “Report” form. Moderation decisions are taken under transparent rules.
8) Prohibited activities
You may not:
— use malware or bots;
— scrape or mass-harvest data without permission;
— attempt to bypass security measures;
— impersonate another person;
— use the Service for unlawful purposes.
9) Advertising and external links
The website may display advertisements (for example Google Ads) and widgets from third-party services. The owners of the external websites are responsible for their content. The presence of advertising does not imply our endorsement.
10) Paid services, refunds and right of withdrawal (where applicable)
If you purchase paid services/subscriptions:
— information about price, content and duration is provided before you place an order;
— for distance contracts, consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal (there are statutory exceptions, for example for services related to accommodation on a specific date, etc.);
— refunds are made in accordance with the applicable rules. For details, see the KKV website.
11) “As is” (disclaimer of warranties)
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We aim for accuracy and availability, but we do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in this section affects your mandatory consumer rights.
12) Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
13) Data protection and cookies
The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, and the use of cookies is governed by our Cookie Policy. Links are available in the website footer. (See also our separate Cookie Policy for the specific requirements of Finnish law and consent rules.)

15) Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland (excluding conflict-of-law rules). Disputes shall be submitted to the Finnish courts, unless mandatory EU consumer protection rules provide otherwise (you retain the right to seek remedies in your country of residence where applicable law so provides).
16) Changes to the Terms and to the Service
We may update the functionality, rules and policies of the Service. The updated version takes effect upon publication (see the date at the top). We will inform registered users of material changes or post a notice on the website.
17) Miscellaneous
- If any provision is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in force.
- Our failure to act in response to a breach does not constitute a waiver of our rights.
- We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor as part of a business reorganisation; by using the Service you consent to such transfer, provided your rights remain protected.
