The Ice Age Monument stands along the forested Pyynikki Ridge in the city of Tampere, a short walk downhill from the Pyynikki Observation Tower along Näkötornintie. Created by sculptor Georg Henriksson and unveiled in 1945, the monument marks the height of an ancient shoreline left behind as the continental ice sheet retreated.
