This country hotel stands on the shore of the Suojoki river in the village of Hietama, about 30 minutes from Jyväskylä. The main building is a former 96-cow dairy barn built in 1889 on the historic Suojoki estate. The estate's history goes back to the 1550s, and in the 1790s a coaching inn stood here on the old Kuopio–Vaasa road. Besides accommodation there is a restaurant and grill.
Dance nights are held in the attic, and on winter Saturdays the Tanssit Vintillä programme runs with a buffet. A summer theatre arena is part of the venue, and Christmas parties include dinner, a sketch show and live music. The dances are organised together with Gramofoni Oy, and the annual Tanssin Tähdet awards are decided here by public vote. Rooms can be booked online or by phone. Breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking are free, and the hotel is non-smoking and child-friendly. There is no pool or gym.
