This Lutheran parish church is a wooden building completed in 1846 by builder Jaakko Kuorikoski to a design by architect E. Lohrmann, in the post-Empire style. It seats 565 people and stands on Kirkonmäki hill next to the funeral chapel and cemeteries. The organ has 35 stops, was built by Heins Heinrich and came into use in 1982. The parish was founded as a chapel of Ruovesi in 1657 and became an independent consistorial parish in 1859.
The church can be booked through the parish service office, and concerts and other events are rented via the cantor. In summer it opens on weekdays as a roadside church, and services are held on Sundays. The church has an induction loop, a sound system and a baptismal font. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
