Founded in 1979, this municipal music school teaches the extended syllabus of basic arts education. Options include early-childhood music groups, instrument tuition, basic and advanced studies and an adult department. It has around 240 students.
Classes are mainly in the evenings and follow school holidays. A limited number of instruments are available to borrow. Students perform in concerts, music evenings and care home visits; performances can also be requested through the school's booking contact. The teaching area also includes Soini and Kurikka.
