Founded in 1973, the local history museum occupies an 1880 communal grain store moved to its present site in 1917. Displays cover local livelihoods, especially farming. Products and tools come from the Kangassaari glassworks, active in 1857–1903. A school-made model of a Savo-Karelian fishing harbour, Apajavesillä, won a national prize in 1964.
Run by a local heritage association, the museum opens in summer and by advance arrangement at other times. A wheelchair ramp was added in 2022. Nearby are an 1886 church and an early 20th-century heritage bridge. Association products are sold at Kodinhelmi shop. The museum belongs to South Savo's industrial heritage museum group.
