This municipal day-care centre stands in the village centre, surrounded by countryside. About 45 children attend in three groups: Koskikarat (ages 3–6), Kuikat (2–3) and Pikku-uikut (1–2). Staff include early childhood education teachers, childcare workers, an assistant and kitchen staff. It is run by the municipality.
The centre stresses a safe, warm atmosphere, respectful interaction with children and open, trusting cooperation with families. There is plenty of outdoor play and physical activity, and the groups visit local play areas, the sports hall and the library. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
