This fenced reindeer park of about two hectares lies inside Nuuksio National Park and is home to 11 reindeer. The animals were brought from Lapland in December 2013, and visits are arranged on the reindeer's terms: they are not taken to outside events. Visitors can feed the reindeer with lichen from a feeding terrace and hear guides talk about reindeer life. A visit includes coffee or tea brewed over a campfire and a fresh bun in the White Reindeer hut.

A small gift shop sells Finnish reindeer bone products, jewellery and soft toys, and you can try amethyst digging with a certificate of authenticity. The hut can be booked for private lunches, dinners and celebrations. It suits families, tourists and groups, and a visit can be combined with a hike in Nuuksio. The park belongs to Sea & Mountain Adventures Oy, a family company. It is open at set weekly times and otherwise by advance booking only. The route from the car park has a small rock rise and steps, so the entrance is not wheelchair accessible.

Did you visit and feed the reindeer? Tell other visitors about it in the comments.
