Founded by physician Juhani Aho in 1964, the Finnish family business operates in tourism and healthcare. The group includes the Ruka and Pyhä ski resorts and healthcare companies Aava, Pikkujätti and Aisti Health. It remains wholly family-owned, with the founder's five children running the businesses.
Healthcare covers private and corporate clients as well as children and young people. Ruka is a year-round tourism destination, while Pyhä focuses on alpine skiing and freeriding. Established in 1972, Juhani Aho's Foundation for Medical Research awards grants, mainly to young researchers.
