The company rents reusable meat and ready-meal crates for chilled transport of packaged food. It was founded in 1994 as a joint venture of retail logistics companies and the food industry. The crates are rented, so clients do not need to buy them or tie up capital. Each crate is individually identified and its route is tracked digitally from producer back to producer.
Crates are emptied at shops, restaurants and central kitchens, then washed and inspected to hygiene requirements. Distribution terminals consolidate deliveries to shops and large kitchens. Single crates can be returned to the nearest K- or S-group store, while larger batches are arranged through the company, which reports its carbon and water footprint every year.
