This national association promotes and develops social ballroom dancing and dance culture in Finland. It works through a nationwide network of member dance clubs, runs instructor training for member clubs and others interested in teaching dance, and keeps an instructor register.
Every year it organises the national championship week, with Rock'n'Swing dance competitions. It also presents the annual Maineteko award and the Dance Club of the Year title. The association is a new member of Opintokeskus Sivis, a national adult education institution for voluntary organisations.
