The stepped waterfall on the Kuonanjoki lies in a channel blasted in the 1970s to feed Hautaperä reservoir. Its total height is around four metres, with a nearly vertical main drop just under three metres followed by a smaller cascade. Water flows throughout the year.
The falls are directly beneath a wooden road bridge and can be reached by car. Parking is on the east side of the bridge, and the east bank allows close viewing.
