Northern Finland's first rural primary school opened in this former parish hall in 1870. The school took over the entire building in 1904. Exhibitions about schooling first opened to the public in spring 2001 and have since been expanded.
A local heritage association runs the museum. Summer staff lead guided visits exploring the history of education. The building stands beside the skier statue.
Tell future visitors in the comments what you took away from the museum's account of school history.
