The birthplace and childhood home of Nobel Prize-winning author Frans Emil Sillanpää stands on a slope beside Myllyoja stream. Originally a barn storing threshing waste on Hämylä farm, it was converted into a home by the author's father.
The museum opens one hour before summer theatre performances and by arrangement. Visitors can explore sites associated with the author independently using an audio tour. An accessible toilet is available.
