The two-kilometre circular trail passes bends of the Renkajoki river, a conifer arboretum and the dry meadows of Rautavuori. Activity points are aimed particularly at families with children. Green Pikku-Ilves signs and arrows mark the route, which can be walked in either direction.
Most of the walk is easy, but there are slopes, steps and uneven ground, with a steep ascent to Rautavuori from the west. An accessible riverside rest stop about 100 metres from parking has a picnic table with wheelchair space. Rautavuori has a lean-to shelter suitable for overnight stays, a fire ring and a dry toilet. Parking is available at the disc golf car park, with the Rastaanpolku bus stop nearby.
