This ice rink and event arena is known as the home of the HPK ice hockey club. It hosts Liiga and junior hockey, figure skating and recreational hockey groups. It opened in 1979 and seats 5,360 people, with 23 private boxes, three cabins, seven dressing rooms, four restaurants and several bars; the rink measures 30 x 58 metres. The complex also includes the neighbouring Pihlajalinna Areena (700-seat stand, six dressing rooms) and the Hakio ice sports centre.
It is owned by Jäähalli Oy and operated by Liikuntahallit Oy. The main entrance is step-free with an automatic door, and accessible toilets are in the main lobby and by the disabled stand. There is no accessible changing room, but the rink can be reached without obstacles through the service gate. Parking is on site, and HPK home games are reachable by public transport. Ice time and rentals are mainly booked through an electronic booking system.
