This church serves a parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The parish separated from Rautalampi in 1860, and the present wooden church was built in 1889–1892 and renovated in 1993–1995. Sunday services are held here, along with church ceremonies such as baptisms and weddings. Parish events include children's clubs, mothers' evenings, handicraft evenings and youth activities.
A church conversation service is available by phone and online, also in Swedish. The parish rents out halls and rooms, with the rental terms listed on its website. It also runs a funeral office, cemetery services, grave maintenance and catering, and certificates and family history or genealogy research can be ordered from the parish office. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
