Designed and built by Josef Stenbäck, the granite church was constructed in 1911–1913 and consecrated in December 1913. Its National Romantic architecture has Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau influences. Stenbäck also designed interior elements such as the stained glass and pulpit. It seats about 400.
A guide is present during the summer Road Church season. The church belongs to Tainionvirta parish. A hearing loop, accessible route, parking and wheelchair-accessible toilet are available.
