The café sits on an island in the Jyrängönkoski rapids of the Kymi river, and its covered terraces look out over the water. The building was completed in 1921 as a sauna and later converted into a café, keeping its original character. It serves freshly brewed coffee and specialty coffees in a Central European café tradition, along with cakes, doughnuts, buns, savoury pies and salmon soup. Cold and hot drinks are available, and the café has an alcohol serving licence.
The island can be reached by road bridges and by pedestrian and cycle bridges, in use since 1983. Accessible seating, parking, entrance and toilet are available, but there is no hearing loop.
