This university of applied sciences trains professionals for business and the service sector. Its main fields are business, information technology, hospitality, restaurant and tourism, journalism, sports, and vocational teacher education. It has over 11,000 students across campuses in the capital region, Vierumäki and Porvoo. It offers Bachelor's (AMK) and Master's (YAMK) degrees in Finnish and English, with full-time or flexible multi-form study. It also trains vocational teachers, guidance counsellors and special education teachers.
Shorter study modules, specialisation and continuing education are available, along with an open university of applied sciences. Strong links with working life, entrepreneurship, business cooperation and international partner networks are emphasised, and the school is part of the Ulysseus alliance of eight European higher education institutions. Admission runs through the national joint application, with separate rolling admission for some English-taught programmes. The entrance and car park are wheelchair accessible.
