The training leads to qualification as a lymphoedema therapist: the Lymfahoidon Kokonaisuus (LyKo) course is organised together with Suomen Lymfahoito ry and Lymfterapi i Finland rf. It is led by Tom Väisänen, a physiotherapist and lymph therapy teacher, with Dr. med. Kathrin Jung of the Földi Clinic in Germany as second teacher. Teaching is in Finnish, and the medical lectures in German are interpreted into Finnish.
The course runs in four modules totalling 24 days and ends with a three-part final exam. It carries 12 study credits, including self-study. Content covers lymphatic anatomy and physiology, manual lymph drainage, compression therapy and bandaging, and conditions such as secondary and primary lymphoedema of the arms and legs, lipoedema, and breast and genital lymphoedema. According to its website, the training is approved by Finnish payers and meets international criteria. The toilet is wheelchair accessible.
