Sea burials involve scattering ashes or lowering a dissolvable urn into the water. The trip through the archipelago to the burial area takes about half an hour. The official protected areas at Käärmeluoto and Abrahamin luoto require no separate permit.
The boat accommodates 1–10 mourners and departs from its home harbour during the open-water season, from spring to late autumn. Each booking reserves three hours; the return begins when the party is ready. A heated cabin, toilet and Bluetooth speakers for memorial music are available. Partner funeral homes can arrange both the wider funeral and the boat trip.
