The café opened in 2009 on the site of a red waterfront kiosk that had operated there since 1967. What began as a seasonal kiosk later grew to include indoor seating, and today there is a log-cabin-style interior and a terrace by the sea, opened in May 2010 in connection with the local boating club's season opening. The café is known for its salmon soup, made from high-quality ingredients, and serves Finnish pancake with coffee.
It stands on the shore at the Vartiokylä beach and boating club. Accessible seating is available, but the toilet is not wheelchair accessible.
