The non-profit limited company maintains youth housing with an emphasis on community and environmentally friendly living. It is owned by a civic organisation founded in 1990 out of a squatters' movement, supporting young people's cultural and civic activities.
The parent association also runs a cultural centre opened in 2014 in Suvilahti's Valvomo building. Activities are mainly age-unrestricted, non-commercial and substance-free, and rooms can be hired for small private celebrations.
