The ferry links Laajasalo and Meritullintori in about 20 minutes. Built in 1984, the steel-hulled M/S Kökar carries 218 passengers and has a cafe. It runs on renewable HVO diesel.
HSL AB-zone tickets are valid and must be bought beforehand, with no ticket sales on board or at the piers. Bicycles can be carried when space permits. Service runs daily in summer and on weekdays in winter. The Meritullintori route is step-free, but this end's temporary pier is not fully accessible. Suomen Saaristovarustamo operates for Suomenlinnan Liikenne, commissioned by Kaupunkiliikenne.
