This mixed-use urban block combines services, restaurants, shops, museums, sports and creative businesses. It hosts restaurants and cafés, design and fashion shops focused on Nordic design, and wellness options such as pilates. The block includes a Metropolia University of Applied Sciences campus with 14 culture and creative degree programmes, and the Pop & Jazz Conservatory is in the Soiva building.
It stands on the former Arabia ceramics factory site. The factory was founded in 1873 and by the late 1940s was the world's largest ceramics factory. The area is known for Finnish design history, including Kaj Franck and the Arabia design department. In 2024 the old red-brick buildings had been renovated and the inner courtyard and alleys opened to the public. Vacant office and workspace is available for creative businesses, and the block hosts events such as talks, performances and seasonal gatherings. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
