The company is the Finnish arm of the Swedish firm Stop Digging, which makes and installs ground screws as an alternative to concrete foundation blocks. The screws are hot-dip galvanised steel, CE-marked to EN 1090-1:2009 and designed for the Nordic climate. The company and its installation process are ISO 9001 certified, and the company itself claims about 60% lower CO2 emissions than concrete plinths.
Trained, certified installers fit the screws with specialised machines. Installation is possible year-round, including in frozen ground, and building can start right afterwards. The screws suit private homes, terraces, sheds and fences, as well as public projects, temporary sites and events. According to its website, the service life is at least 100 years under normal conditions. A quote can be requested, and a range of screw lengths and attachment fittings is available for special installations.
