According to its website, this is the oldest public sauna still in use in Helsinki. It was built in the 1880s in the Lapinlahti hospital park by the sea, first for hospital staff and patients. The benches seat ten, a swimming beach is less than 100 metres away, and it is looked after by volunteer supervisors.
Public sessions (mixed, women-only and men-only) cannot be booked: just turn up, pay and go in. Pay at the Kahvila Lähde café till during café hours, otherwise the supervisor in exact cash or by MobilePay; one payment covers up to two hours. Private sessions are booked through the online shop. Shower first and sit on a sauna cloth. The facilities are not wheelchair accessible.
