This football club was founded in 1998, when it split from the multi-sport club Vuosaaren Viikingit, whose history goes back to 1965. It focuses on men's, women's and junior football: boys' and girls' junior teams play in district leagues across several age groups, and women's and men's teams compete at various levels. Training and matches run year-round, and the youngest players can start at the age of four or five. A more competitive pathway is offered alongside recreational play.
Training and match venues include the Viikkarien Heteniitty artificial turf pitch (built 2015) and the fields of the Kartano sports park in Vuosaari. The club holds Tähtiseura (Star Club) status and a skill and talent school status, and takes part in the Finnish FA's club development programme. Its values are openness, goal orientation, equality and positivity. The club relies on volunteers as coaches, team managers, treasurers, caretakers and fundraisers.
