This scout troop was founded in 1963 in Pihlajamäki and has about 90 to 100 members, girls and boys. There are groups for cub scouts, adventurers, scouts and rover scouts, plus a family scout group. Most groups meet weekly at the troop's den in Pihlajamäki, and the troop is sometimes active in Jakomäki too, after merging with the Alppikauriit troop into Aavat.
Activities include hikes, trips, events, and summer and winter camps, based on the scouting programme with its emphasis on outdoor life and learning by doing. The troop cooperates with Suomen Partiolaiset, Pääkaupunkiseudun Partiolaiset, Malmi parish and local schools and organisations, and is supported by Malmi parish and the city. Scouting is religiously and politically non-committed.
