The volunteer brigade operates under a contract with the rescue department. It has an emergency response department and a youth section. Its fire boat, Fogeli RHE248, is used for training in island fires and searches for people on the water.
Adult volunteers can join through a beginner course, with equipment provided. The brigade gives public fire safety instruction and holds open days with vehicle and boat displays. Part of the station building is rented out to fund its operations.
