This butterfly society gathers members' observation and specimen data for research projects and works with environmental authorities. Activities include monitoring fell butterflies in Lapland and collecting observations of butterflies overwintering in the wild.
Members receive Baptria magazine. The society holds lectures, annual meetings and regional club evenings, and offers a second-hand book market. Insect equipment is supplied through its partner Tibiale Oy, which runs an online shop for members.
