This marked nature trail runs about 1.3 km along a river in Kaukasti village. It starts and ends behind the village community hall and is marked with yellow-topped posts and arrows. The route follows a path for the most part and the edge of a gravel road in places, with boardwalks here and there. Information boards describe the village's nature and history, including the yarn-reel and wool mills of the 1800s.
The terrain is easy with small changes in height, but the path is sometimes narrow and uneven, and there are no accessible facilities. Parking is in the community hall yard. Fires are not allowed and dogs must be kept on a lead. Villagers built the trail largely through volunteer work, and the city looks after it.
