This small traditional candy factory in Southern Ostrobothnia is now in its second generation. It makes hand-made hard candies, classic sweets and salmiakki (salty liquorice) products, many of them glycyrrhizin-free, with nearly 50 flavours according to the website. Its Polkagris recipe traces back to 1859 through a collaboration with a bakery in Grännas, Sweden. The hard candies are gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free, and mostly vegan. Salty Loves and Pöyröö Puluveri salmiakki powder have won the Salmiakki Finlandia award.
The factory shop is open on weekdays, with Saturday hours in summer and before Christmas. Groups can book guided work demonstrations, candy workshops and river cruises. Products are sold wholesale to retailers and online to consumers, and Kivapäivä event and activity packages are arranged through a separate service. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
