The heritage house presents the artillery units commanded by Colonel Paul Georg Aalto during the Winter and Continuation Wars. Battery comrades built it in Karelia in 1942, and it was relocated in 1983. Displays include battle routes, the 1952 memoir Tykistö taistelussa, weapons, photographs and uniforms. A personnel index records over 1,700 veterans who served in the units.
Run by a heritage committee, the house has two wartime field guns and a memorial stone in its courtyard. Visitors include veterans, Lotta Svärd members and school groups. The car park is wheelchair accessible. Martti Ulkuniemi's donated collection of about 554 military history books is held at the municipal library.
