The tourism association runs a visitor information service and presents the area's nature, war history and Karelian culture. Parppeinvaara's Runokylä village brings together kantele music, handicrafts, Orthodox traditions and traditional food. Attractions include a rune singer's house, museum barns, General Raappana's cabin, a chapel and the Mesikkä nature cottage.
Advice is available by phone and email, with an information point at Runokylä in summer. The website also has a restaurant directory. Suggested outings include the eskers and restored Continuation War fortifications of Petkeljärvi National Park and a 150 km war-history route with memorials, museums, restored battle positions and information boards.
