The association brings together entrepreneurs, companies and interest groups, and works for a lively city centre and for its members' interests in centre development. Its vision is to make the town a Finnish centre known for events, shopping, dining and social life. The board includes representatives of local retail and service businesses.
It organises events and summer Monday market days on the town square, with flea markets and children's programmes. Gift cards usable at member businesses are sold online and at the local bookshop. Companies, associations and central housing companies can join as members, and advertising in the city centre is offered to businesses.
