This nature area of about 90 hectares is known for its birdsong and varied vegetation, and bird watching is its main attraction. It includes a grove nature reserve established in 1991, and the Keravanjoki river flows through it. The trail follows the river bank along boardwalks and stairs. From the north parking area to the south info point is about 2.5 km, with steep climbs and descents.
Facilities include parking spaces, info boards, a dry toilet, a fireplace and a lean-to shelter. Campfires are allowed only at marked fireplaces when no forest fire warning is in effect, and you bring your own firewood. Tenting is allowed only near the fireplaces, and dogs must be kept on a leash. The core area of the reserve is closed to riding, mountain biking and fishing, and the bird nesting period runs from 1 April to 15 July. The sandy road from the parking area to the lean-to and fireplace suits people with reduced mobility, with a gate key available from the city. The area is maintained by the city.
