Based in a yellow detached house, this Steiner nursery has 28 places for children aged 2.5 to seven. Play uses silk, wool, fabrics and open-ended toys. Teachers tell the same story throughout the week with puppet figures and a story table. Creative activities include watercolour painting, sewing, felting, carving and baking.
The sheltered yard opens directly into Satumetsä forest, with forest trips and outdoor play part of daily life. Vegetarian meals are cooked fresh in-house from local ingredients. The nursery has reached the highest level of Finland's Steps to Organic programme. Parents can join children's birthday celebrations, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
