This timber and building materials company was founded in 1949 as a firewood business and moved to its current site in 1967. Its own planing mill, dating from the 1970s, allows flexible deliveries and quality control. The range includes panels, building boards, mouldings, insulation wool and all kinds of sawn timber. Glulam beams, laminated wood, doors, windows and roofing sheets are supplied through delivery sales. Timber can be cut to length, and board sawing and planing are also offered.
Goods are delivered to construction sites or to the customer's door, with transport arranged when needed. A large stock allows relatively quick delivery of big orders, and customers are served in the surrounding area, including Espoo, Sipoo and Vantaa. In April 2023 the company acquired the business of Hyvinkään Puutavara, and Nurmijärven Rakennustarvike is also part of it. About ten people work here, run by the third generation of the Vainio family. A loyalty programme gives bonus points. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
