This tourism, craft and culture quarter is set in a traditional block of wooden houses in the town centre. It includes a café, several boutiques and the Taitokeskus craft centre, run by the association Taito Pohjois-Karjala ry. On sale are handmade crafts, clothing, home décor and North Karelian products, as well as yarns and craft materials. Exhibitions and events are held throughout the year.
Hand-craft courses and craft workshops (Taitopajat) are on offer, and supplies can also be bought from the online shop. Taito membership gives access to the advisory services, courses and materials. Accessible seating, entrance and toilet are available.
