This free-entry nature resource research exhibition park is open to everyone. In summer the pastures hold cows, horses, sheep, goats, hens and pigs, mostly Finnish native breeds. The hens are of the Iitti native breed, a relatively rare strain, and the native hen conservation programme began in 1998, coordinated by the Natural Resources Institute Finland. The animals arrive from nearby farms in May or June and stay until mid-September. Two pigs, Pipsa and Ressu, are kept behind a double fence to guard against African swine fever.
Visitors may not enter the enclosures or feed the animals their own food, though goats may be given clover and dandelions. Groups can book a guided tour, with or without refreshments. The grounds have a café, a smoke sauna and lean-to, a gazebo, canoe rental and parking for motorhomes. Children can enjoy a straw bouncy castle and a stick horse track. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible, but there is no accessible toilet.
