This service offers health counselling for people who inject drugs and for sex workers. Used needles and syringes can be exchanged for clean ones free of charge, and the service provides rapid HIV and hepatitis C tests, vaccinations from the national vaccination programme and referrals to a laboratory for tests for sexually transmitted infections. It can be used anonymously.
It operates alongside the addiction medicine outpatient clinic and is part of the Central Finland wellbeing services county. A service van called Visiitti is used, and its location is available on request by phone, SMS or Telegram. The service is public and in Finnish, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
