This second-hand shop is run by the Finnish Red Cross to raise funds for its work. It accepts donations of furniture, clothing and footwear, home textiles, decor items, dishes, household goods and books. Sales proceeds go to regional aid work carried out through more than 50 local branches. The shop is laid out like an ordinary store.
The shop provides work and activity for people with partial work ability, the long-term unemployed, people returning to work, rehabilitees and young people starting their careers. It operates on Red Cross principles such as humanity, impartiality and voluntary service. According to its website, there are further shops in the Keljo and Kirri areas and in Seppälä. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
