This non-profit budo club was founded in 2008. It aims to offer training opportunities and spread knowledge of the traditions and culture of Japanese martial arts in Central Finland. It teaches kendo and Suiō-ryū iai kenpō, a form of Japanese swordsmanship, and trains in its own dojo, Ōko-dōjō.
No equipment, fitness or previous skills are needed to start. Visitors can watch a session by contacting the instructors in advance. The club holds demonstrations and try-out sessions a few times a year, including at Yläkaupungin yö.
