Founded in 1980, the scout troop is affiliated with the Free Church, with local scouting activity dating to 1977. It runs age groups for children and young people, overnight trips, hiking weekends and summer camps, emphasising leader training and expeditions.
Groups mainly meet at Ahjo and other agreed locations. Outside groups can also book Kaiku scout cabin, with 12+3 sleeping places, a sauna trailer and fire pit. The roughly 8.8-hectare Huutama campsite on the south shore of Kinnaslampi has a well, latrines and a lean-to. Facebook and Instagram carry announcements, and lost property enquiries can be made by email.
