Registered in 1999, the regional association belongs to the Autism Association of Finland's member network. It provides information and support for autistic people and their families, organises parent and peer groups and promotes training and recreation. Its aims include autism awareness, equality and neuro-accessibility.
The association holds lectures and webinars and engages with decision-makers on early childhood education, schools, housing and other services. Meetings take place at the Matara Civic Activity Centre, with formal invitations sent to members by email.
