The summer theatre is run by Lions Club Piikkiö in the Sipilänmäki farmyard in Piikkiö. It has operated since 1980 and has staged plays for 40 summers. Musical plays are the core format, with a large cast of amateur performers. Proceeds from ticket sales go to the charitable activities of Lions Club Piikkiö.
The venue is an old farm courtyard that the municipality leases to the club, with audience seating and a performance area built on the site. Early performances were held outdoors, and plastic roofing was added in the late 1980s. The audience sings along before performances, a tradition from the first seasons. According to its website, it is likely the only Lions club in the world to run regular summer theatre productions. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
