Founded in 1913 by master baker Pekka Heikkinen and his wife Anna Loviisa, this bakery and confectionery is now run by the fourth generation of the family. Bread is baked by hand, with a rotating daily selection of wood-fired oven bread. Cakes made to order, such as cream cakes, Sacher cake and sandwich cake, need advance notice, and vegan and gluten-free options such as a vegan vegetable pastry are available. Gift cards, gift sets and the bakery's own products, including a cookbook and mugs, are on sale.
Cafés operate in the city centre, at the City Theatre during performances and at the local airport around flights. A breakfast porridge buffet is served on weekday mornings and Saturdays. Orders can be placed through the online shop, by phone, by email or by contact form, with pick-up at the airport possible. Private events and courses, such as gingerbread house workshops, are also offered. The seating and entrance are wheelchair accessible, but there is no accessible car park.
