The development association supports business and community projects in North Satakunta and Northwest Pirkanmaa. Funding comes from the EU's rural development fund, aiming to create jobs, develop the region and improve residents' wellbeing. A board of local people decides which projects receive funding.
Office staff help prepare applications, which are submitted electronically through the Hyrrä system. Programmes include business and association project funding, Startti-Leader and Nuoriso-Leader for young people. The association also cooperates internationally with European local action groups.
